About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at SpecialtyRx, a leading Long-Term Care pharmacy. As a Pharmacist - Cost Containment Specialist, you will play a critical role in analyzing high-cost medication orders and identifying areas where cost savings can be achieved through drug interchange while ensuring patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough medication reviews to ensure appropriate use and identify cost-saving interventions.
- Cost Containment Strategies: Develop and implement cost containment strategies to reduce medication costs without compromising patient care.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with nursing homes, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data and generate reports on high-cost medication usage and potential savings.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice and medication management.
Requirements
- License to Practice: Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
- Long Term Care Experience: Previous experience in Long Term Care pharmacy or other medical fields is preferred.
- Strong Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Microsoft Excel Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to generate reports and analyze data.
Work Schedule
- Part-Time: 4:00pm - 9:00pm with occasional weekends.
