Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality patient-centered care, considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process.
  • Consistently integrate concepts of relationship-based care into practice, serving as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit.
  • Assume accountability for nursing care of designated patients, demonstrating unit/area designated competencies.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care using evidence-based interventions and standards of care.
  • Identify patient and family education needs, developing and implementing teaching plans based on evidence-based practice.
  • Effectively function as a member of the inter-professional team, collaborating to achieve patient outcomes and participating in interprofessional rounds.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing, providing accurate, timely, concise, and thorough information to colleagues and other disciplines.
  • Direct team members to provide care for a group of patients during a designated time frame, prioritizing necessary activities and delegating appropriately.
  • Organize and prioritize individual workload around patient and unit needs, adjusting activities and plans depending on the situation.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Michigan Nursing License.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific needs.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
