Main Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze assigned accounts to identify potential issues and develop strategies for resolution.
- Communicate with customers through various methods, including phone, email, and customer portals, to resolve disputes and ensure timely payment.
- Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure all customer requirements are met and payments are not delayed.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of customers' accounts payable processes and requirements.
- Utilize quantitative data to demonstrate the scope and impact of issues and communicate effectively with customers.
- Ensure customers have all necessary information to issue payment, including invoices, source documentation, and other requested materials.
- Problem resolution: listen to customers, research disputes, and provide clear explanations and solutions.
- Support the collection of Demurrage, Chassis, and Energy charges, and communicate with shippers as needed.
- Monitor delinquent accounts and transfer packages to the Manager for additional collection efforts or write-off.
- Email credit applications to new customers and follow established processes for assigning credit lines.
- Follow all department and company procedures, and assist in revising and improving procedures as needed.
- Investigate overpayments and process refunds as applicable.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in customer relationship management software and other relevant tools.
