Overview

The Rowan University is seeking a skilled pharmacist to contribute to the dynamic veterinary education and clinical environment at our small animal teaching hospital. As a Veterinary Medicine Specialist, you will oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with USP800 standards for hazardous and non-hazardous sterile and non-sterile compounding.

About the Position

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide pharmaceutical support to the small animal hospital, including drug therapy consultations, medication management, and safety monitoring. You will work closely with veterinarians and other healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy and contribute to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy
  • Manage the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, including sterile and non-sterile compounding
  • Provide pharmaceutical support to the small animal hospital
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent
  • Current New Jersey Pharmacy Board licensure
  • Previous experience with veterinary drugs and compounding highly desirable
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
