Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in Silver Springs, Maryland.

Job Summary:

We are passionate about providing high-quality care to our patients, and we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures to patients prior to testing.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
  • Maintain patient charts and records, and record and process sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during procedures.
  • Submit completed billing worksheets daily and maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and maintain archives/records scans.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing individual religious, ethical, and moral opinions/beliefs.
  • Recognize ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to pregnant women.
  • Comply with safety and security training and OSHA standards/regulations.
  • Complete all required Compliance Training.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities.

Requirements:

  • Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • At least two (2) years in Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.
  • Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
