Job Summary

This entry-level Surgical Technician position plays a vital role in the Operating Room team, providing patient care and support throughout the perioperative experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Surgeon during surgery by providing the appropriate instruments and maintaining operating room equipment.
  • Perform according to hospital policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Work cooperatively with the department and other services to create a system of quality healthcare.
  • Participate in surgery by organizing instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and managing intraoperative medications.
  • Manage surgical specimens according to Physician's orders and Hospital policy.
  • Follow Operating Room procedures for the proper decontamination of instrumentation, equipment, and room turnover.
  • Report equipment and supply problems to the Charge Nurse, Service Lead, or Clinical Nursing Director as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor.
