We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Reliability Specialist to join our team at Smiths Group plc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our mechanical seals and rotating equipment solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Application Review and Recommendation: Review customer applications and provide recommendations for optimal seal performance.
- Troubleshooting and Analysis: Troubleshoot and analyze seal operation problems and failures, and provide solutions to improve MTBR and reduce material costs.
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management programs to optimize inventory levels and reduce variances.
- Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, company personnel, and vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
- Problem-Solving and Negotiation: Solve problems on existing installations proactively, and negotiate with customers and sales personnel regarding material changes or modifications.
- Product Development: Assist in the development of customer seal standardization programs and inventory management programs.
- Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare reports and recommendations to management, and assist in the development and management of partnership programs.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience with mechanical seals, rotating equipment, and basic engineering principles.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of labor reporting, work order variances, QAD, MFG-PRO, SAP, or equivalent; previous participation in continuous improvement activities; and excellent written and verbal business communication skills.
