UofL Health is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing examinations according to established protocols, demonstrating a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification.
- Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
- Provide pre and post-exam patient education pertinent to the exam being performed.
- Produce scans according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department with a high degree of accuracy.
- Evaluate finished images for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality.
- Discuss technical findings with Radiologists.
- Ensure examinations are complete, including Cerner completion and PACS review.
- Instruct Radiology Residents and students in Ultrasound scanning protocols.
- Take an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities.
- Graduated from an accredited US program.
- 3 years prior ultrasound experience (preferred).
- ARDMS or within 1 year of hire date.
- One specialty area (i.e. abdomen, vascular, OBGYN).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
