Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our stores, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, ensuring a hygienic environment for all employees.
  • Sweep and damp mop all floors daily, paying attention to detail to prevent slips and falls.
  • Respond promptly to spills and clean up any messes throughout your shift.
  • Empty all trash inside and outside the store, maintaining a clean and organized exterior.
  • Schedule rotation and cleaning of the dairy shelves, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our customers.
  • Schedule cleaning of the glass dairy and frozen food doors, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Sweep the parking lot with designated equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our customers.
  • Perform minor repairs of equipment and fixtures as needed, ensuring a safe and functional environment.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as needed, maintaining a safe and accessible environment for our customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and established procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
  • Maintain company standards and programs for safety, fire prevention, and security, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain good communication with the management team and associates, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for our customers.
  • Communicate any needed repairs and/or maintenance work needed, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Maintain a quality of performance of all specific duties and responsibilities assigned, ensuring a high level of quality and excellence.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Flexible schedule needed, ensuring adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk 100% of the time, ensuring a high level of mobility and flexibility.
  • Frequent reaching and lifting (mop buckets, spills), requiring a high level of physical stamina and endurance.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting, requiring a high level of flexibility and mobility.
  • Ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials/substances, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time, requiring a high level of physical strength and endurance.
  • Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly, requiring a high level of physical stamina and endurance.
