Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and nursing personnel in delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with patient intake, managing patient flow, and gathering essential medical information.

Your schedule would be 8:30am-5pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; with Mondays and Tuesdays off, we can be flexible with this schedule.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing patient care and support as directed by the Physician, Provider, or Registered Nurse (RN).
- Monitor and report any significant changes in patients' conditions.
- Educate patients on test preparations, medication administration, and treatment protocols.
- Deliver preventative health information as instructed by the provider or RN.
- Coordinate and communicate test results with the healthcare provider.
- Help schedule patient appointments efficiently.
- Prepare medication refill requests for provider review.
- Facilitate the acquisition of lab and imaging results, alerting providers to any abnormalities.
- Manage electronic medical records, responding to messages and results for the provider.
- Administer injections using appropriate techniques when necessary.
- Support front desk operations and assist with patient registration as needed.
- Assist with patient transportation when required.
- Room patients, oversee patient flow, and collect necessary medical information.
- Perform vital sign assessments and rooming procedures according to established standards.
- Assist in the collection, labeling, and processing of medical specimens.
- Verify patient information and document as per practice guidelines.
- Keep patients informed about provider schedules and notify providers when patients are ready.
- Maintain cleanliness and inventory of exam rooms and supply areas.
- Ensure medical supplies are ordered and stocked appropriately.
- Sterilize and maintain all exam room equipment as per protocols.
- Contribute to a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Report any environmental hazards or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
- Utilize equipment in accordance with policies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Adhere to all policies when administering medications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old with the necessary education and/or experience to meet functional competencies as outlined in the job description; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Completion of an Associate's or Vocational degree from a Board of Nursing approved LPN program is required.
- Two years of clinic LPN experience is preferred.
- Current LPN license in Minnesota is required.
- LPN license in Wisconsin is required if interacting with Wisconsin patients.
- BLS Tier - Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- BLS Tier - Basic Life Support - Multisource certification is required upon hire.
Medium Work:
Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently, in accordance with the Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy.
