Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at University of Maryland Medical System. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Management: Distribute, assist, collect, and correct patient menu selections in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Meal Delivery: Deliver patient trays to floors using Meal Delivery Carts, ensuring safe food handling and patient satisfaction.
  • Food Preparation: Assemble Meal Trays according to patient selections and diet guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Patient Care: Pass meal trays and nourishments to patients, using two patient identifiers, and collect meal trays from all patients, including isolation patients.
  • Inventory Management: Fill patient requests, retrieve missing/needed items, and maintain updated diet lists and status on all patients.
  • Quality Assurance: Record intake for patients on I & O's and/or caloric counts, and maintain refrigerator temperatures, ensuring a safe food environment.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification: NA
  • Education/Knowledge: Entry-level, with a preferred completion of Sanitation and Food Handlers course
  • Applicable Experience: 1-3 years of food preparation experience, preferably in a large-scale institutional dietary setting
