Position Overview

A leading Cardiac Electrophysiology practice is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cardiology and eager to gain hands-on experience in cardiac patient management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with both front and back office tasks, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques and assist in minor surgical procedures as required.
  • Screen and consent patients for various cardiac studies.
  • Manage patient consent for remote monitoring of cardiac devices, including Pacemakers and Defibrillators.
  • Conduct EKGs and manage the setup of Holter and other heart monitors.
  • Record vital signs and perform phlebotomy when necessary.
  • Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare patient charts for appointments, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history and medications.
  • Verify insurance and obtain necessary referrals for cardiac procedures.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including appointment scheduling.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems and assist patients with inquiries.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understand medical terminology and assist with other assigned duties.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred; fluency in English is essential.
  • Demonstrated responsibility and politeness in patient interactions.
  • Efficient, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills with both patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with cardiac devices is a plus.

Qualifications
  • 1-5 years of experience in Medical Assisting.
  • Professional references are required.
  • Agreement to undergo drug testing and background checks.
