Position Summary
Heartspring is in search of a dedicated Pediatric Speech Therapy Specialist for our Outpatient Clinic, available on a flexible After School / Part-Time / PRN schedule.
As a vital member of our team, the Speech Therapy Specialist will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver exceptional services to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech therapy evaluations and follow-up assessments, providing recommendations grounded in pediatric assessments and established best practices.
- Build strong relationships with families and children, ensuring their insights and priorities are integral to the therapy plan and home program.
- Establish individualized, measurable objectives tailored to the unique needs of each child and family, fostering collaboration across disciplines.
- Implement and apply evidence-based speech therapy interventions consistent with industry standards and aligned with Heartspring's philosophy.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation for each child on the caseload, adhering to industry best practices and payer requirements.
- Engage in professional development through participation in pediatric organizations, seminars, and workshops to stay abreast of the latest literature and advancements in speech therapy.
- Adhere to the ethical standards set forth by KDADS and ASHA, as well as all Heartspring policies and procedures.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills, effectively interacting with diverse individuals and addressing their varying needs promptly.
- Utilize best practice interventions to achieve positive clinical outcomes for children and families, collaborating with a comprehensive interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning and applying speech therapy best practices in individualized therapy plans.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and the coordination of therapeutic interventions.
- Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and non-verbal forms to seek solutions and implement optimal plans.
- Build rapport with team members, working collaboratively towards effective solutions.
- Exhibit adaptability in providing billable services while maintaining focus amidst interruptions or distractions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current Kansas Speech Language Pathology License in good standing.
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competency from ASHA.
- Fulfill continuing education requirements to maintain Kansas licensure and ASHA certification through participation in relevant pediatric seminars and workshops.
- Current CPR Certification in good standing.
- Maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification in good standing.
Physical Demands
- Engage in various physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting as needed.
- Adjust physical positions based on environmental demands.
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and frequently lift 20 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motions such as typing and maintain constant hearing, seeing, and speaking abilities.
