Job Overview
The Oncology Nurse Specialist at Williamson Health plays a crucial role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals affected by cancer. This position requires a highly skilled and empathetic nurse who can coordinate and implement nursing care with precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Performs comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time frame, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
  • Plans individualized care for patients, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
  • Develops and implements plans for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
  • Functions independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment, and no pattern or trend of problem.
  • Handles, transports, stores, prepares, and administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Documents accurately and timely.
  • Reassesses patient's condition, evaluates patient response, and modifies plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have an earned nursing diploma or degree from a college or university and be licensed in the State of Tennessee. Additionally, BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire. For the Oncology unit, ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification is necessary within one year of hire.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
