Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Services Specialist II to join our team at Dallas County. This role will involve working with clients to identify their needs and develop service plans to address those needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information and assess their needs
  • Develop and implement service plans to address client needs
  • Coordinate with clients, families, and service providers to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client interactions and service plans
  • Provide individual, family, or group counseling as needed
  • Utilize community resources to conduct follow-up on referrals and monitor service provider compliance
  • Assume backup duties as needed, including administering medications, transporting clients, and disciplining clients
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a legal, behavioral, or social sciences field, or in a job-related field of study
  • Experience: One year of work-related experience
  • Special Requirements:
    • Skilled in the use of standard software applications
    • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public
    • Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record
    • Certified Juvenile Probation Officer within six months of employment
    • Pass an extensive background investigation
    • Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment
Working Conditions

This position requires working with juveniles who may have committed dangerous/aggressive acts and requires a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding/stressful work environment.
