Pain Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pain Management Specialist to join our team at West Virginia University Health System. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and making a difference in the lives of others.
About the RoleAs a Pain Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive and individualized care for patients and their families in the inpatient phase of hospitalization and immediate post-discharge in the ambulatory setting. You will work closely with pain management faculty or follow established clinical guidelines and protocols to order additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate.
You will perform and communicate results of diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice. Additionally, you will consult and communicate with clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings in the evaluations of patients.
Your responsibilities will include performing succinct comprehensive clinical evaluations and documenting findings in medical records. You will also facilitate patient discharge, post-procedure management, and/or follow-up by coordinating appropriate services and tests prior to discharge necessary for outpatient follow-up appointments in the clinic (as applicable).
You will develop a comprehensive individualized plan of care for pain management patients, which includes teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referral to other members of the healthcare team as necessary.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have a graduate degree from a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing. You must also be nationally certified by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers and licensed or eligible for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
BLS certification is required, and additional Advanced Life Support training may be necessary at the discretion of the department. Acute care or pain management experience is preferred, but eligible new graduates will be considered.
BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
