Job Title: Senior Technologist

Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory team as a Senior Technologist and contribute to the development of advanced nuclear propulsion technology.

About the Role:

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced technologist to work on the preparation, assembly, configuration, operation, and maintenance of production facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience with high-pressure and low-pressure air compressor operation, maintenance, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work associated with preparation, assembly, configuration, operation, and maintenance of production facilities.
  • Operate and maintain support systems to complete the Navy training mission.
  • Troubleshoot and repair high- and low-pressure air compressors that supply breathing air across the NPTU site.
  • Work on rotating shift schedules and may be required to work overtime.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering, or science-related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering, or science-related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience as a nuclear operator in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
  • Technical experience and/or training for operation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Technical experience and/or training for high-pressure and low-pressure air compressor operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Previous experience in operating and maintaining fluid system components.
