Position Summary:
We are looking for a Research Scientist specializing in Pediatric Neuroscience to join our dedicated team. This role is situated within the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery Research.

This position presents a unique opportunity to engage in pioneering neuroscience research, with a specific emphasis on brain imaging and the analysis of electrophysiological data pertinent to epilepsy and various neurological conditions.

The research will utilize clinical data sourced from human participants. A strong foundation in programming and coding is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct advanced research on brain MRI segmentation, localization of depth electrodes, and anatomical labeling.


2. Develop and apply sophisticated data analysis methodologies for interpreting brain imaging and electrophysiological data as it relates to epilepsy and cognitive or motor functions.

3. Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers, clinicians, and students.

4. Prepare and disseminate research findings in high-impact scientific journals.

5. Present research results at both national and international conferences.

6. Assist in grant writing and securing funding for research initiatives.

Qualifications:

A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related discipline.

Strong expertise in neuroimaging and/or neurophysiology techniques along with data analysis.

Experience with MRI segmentation, depth electrode localization, and anatomical labeling is highly advantageous.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Expertise in scientific writing.

Outstanding communication skills.

Ability to mentor and train laboratory personnel and graduate students.

Preferred Experience:
Prior involvement in epilepsy research or cognitive neurophysiology.

Familiarity with machine learning and signal processing techniques.

A proven history of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
