Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will assist our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all aspects of animal care, including preparing animals for exams and surgery, performing medical treatments, and administering medications.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all aspects of animal care
- Prepare animals for exams and surgery
- Perform medical treatments and administer medications
- Obtain and properly handle laboratory specimens
- Work in cooperation with staff to attend to immediate needs
- Handle animals and their owners in a responsive, courteous, and tactful manner
- Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facility for animals
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker. You must also be fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
