Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Academy of Portrait and Figurative Art, providing exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Schedule appointments for portfolio interviews and Academy visits for graduate and undergraduate students, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
  • Assist with exhibition-related tasks, including setup, installation, and deinstallation, to ensure a professional and engaging experience for visitors.
  • Provide administrative support to the supervisor, Director of the Academy of Portrait and Figurative Art, and students, including scanning documents, managing calendars, data entry, and handling student inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within the first 30 days.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic level of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
Eligibility
  • Students enrolled at Florida International University, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
  • Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
