About the Role:
The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly qualified candidate for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The successful candidate will have a strong background in anesthesiology and a proven track record of teaching and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
- Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of general anesthesia at HUP and PPMC.
- The Vice Chair of Education is responsible for overseeing the educational efforts of the Department, including overseeing the educational programs of the core residency, fellowships, and medical student rotations.
- The Vice Chair of Education will work closely with the Department Chair to oversee, promote, and facilitate excellence in educational efforts across all aspects of the Department.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- ABA certification in anesthesiology along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required.
- Prior leadership experience and record of successful teaching/mentorship is required.
