Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Coast Dental and Orthodontics in Tallahassee, FL. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and delivering high-quality dental hygiene services.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues to identify any abnormalities or suspected diseases or conditions.
- Create periodontal treatment plans based on the dentist's diagnosis and provide patients with personalized care and education.
- Perform thorough cleanings, including removing soft and hard deposits and extrinsic stain from teeth, using hand instruments, ultrasonic cavitron inserts, and prophy handpieces.
- Instruct patients on good oral hygiene practices and recommend appropriate products or devices for patients' home care.
- Perform prophylaxis, full mouth debridement, scaling and root planing, and other periodontal therapies as needed.
- Place locally administered antibiotics as supportive periodontal therapy and implement irrigation and desensitizing procedures or products as adjunctive to periodontal therapy.
- Position and expose dental and carpal radiographic film and sensors and perform in-office whitening procedures.
- Apply cavity-preventive agents, such as fluorides and pit and fissure sealants, and make recommendations as to patients' re-care interval and follow-up needs.
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the state of Florida.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
- Must be willing to partner with the dentist and work well as a member of the total dental team.
An RDH works in clean, well-lit offices with important health safeguards, including strict adherence to proper radiological procedures, infection control protocols, and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
