About the Role

Rogers Group, a leading aggregates and asphalt highway construction company, is seeking experienced Paving Equipment Operators to join our team in the Huntsville, AL area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction and paving.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
  • Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Follow directions of Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas, including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Benefits
  • Competitive wages starting between $24.00/hr - $28.00, with a $3 shift premium for all night shift work.
  • Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.
  • Annual merit-based pay increase.
  • Paid holiday shutdown period between Christmas and New Years, in addition to 7 holidays throughout the year.
  • Paid vacation - accrued during the first year, starting at 180 days, 2 weeks at 1 year, 3 weeks at 5 years, and 4 weeks at 20 years of service.
