Asbestos Scientist 2 Position

Pace Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Asbestos Scientist 2 to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA.
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to perform high-volume sample processing, preparation, and analysis of bulk materials for asbestos content using PLM. The successful candidate will also be responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment, as well as performing QA/QC practices as specified in our QA/QC manual.
Responsibilities:- Receiving and processing high volumes of samples quickly and accurately.
- Preparation and analysis of bulk materials for asbestos content using PLM.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Performing QA/QC practices as specified in our QA/QC manual.
- Assist the QA Manager with data entry and documentation.
- Performs all duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Conscientious and detail-oriented, with good organizational skills.
- Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples.
- Proficiency in high-volume data entry with Excel and/or computer database.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Experience using optical microscopy to identify minerals and other particles.
- Experience with analyzing samples using standard SOPs.
- Understanding of various testing tools, equipment, and calibration.
