The Wellness Associate will report directly to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, delivering personalized care and services to each Resident in accordance with their individual Service Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as required.
- Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental health, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an adequate supply of medical resources and assist with procurement as needed.
- Support shift coverage in case of unexpected absences.
- Help organize and maintain assignments for the Wellness Director.
- Participate in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating necessary medical follow-up.
- Assist Residents in keeping their living spaces clean and organized.
- Address calls for assistance and attend to Resident needs in a timely manner.
- Support Residents with their clothing and laundry requirements when directed.
- Facilitate meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Engage in assigned activity programs.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
- Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all emergency protocols.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate with the Wellness Director and other team members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
Qualifications:
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Capable of fostering positive relationships with Residents, their families, and fellow staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- May require the use of a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Flexibility to work shifts other than the one assigned.
- Potential for extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
- Exposure to infectious waste and various health conditions.
- Background checks and drug testing may be required.
- Participation in community activities may involve being photographed or recorded.
