Job Summary
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Assistant Armorer. As a key member of the Virginia Military Institute team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Armorer in the maintenance, repair, and accountability of all weapons and selected equipment used by the Corps of Cadets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Armorer in the maintenance, repair, and accountability of all weapons and selected equipment.
- Detail oriented, capable of researching and interpreting U.S. Army regulations, and coordinating with assigned Army personnel to safeguard all weapons.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Meet physical requirements, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and repeatedly lifting 10-pound rifles.
- Possess manual dexterity, hand, arm, and upper body strength needed to pull and lock charging handles, bolts, and slides of various weapons.
Minimum Qualifications
- Able to pass a background check.
- Prior military experience is preferred.
