Position Overview:
Specialty: Emergency Room RN
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Primary Role: Deliver nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Skilled in providing care across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Capable of managing typical presentations in the Emergency Department.
- Experienced in collaborating with Charge Nurses during shifts.
- Proficient in interpreting Telemetry/Monitor Tech strips.
Work Schedule:
- Available shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM, 10 AM - 10 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM.
- Self-scheduling options available.
- Scheduling typically managed by the department for traveling staff.
Weekend and Holiday Duties:
- Fill in as needed during weekends and holidays.
Orientation:
- Department-specific orientation will be provided.
Unit Information:
- Trauma Level: Critical Access, ASRH designation by the State.
- Total Beds/Trauma Bays: 14 regular beds, 2 large trauma bays.
- Patient Demographics: Diverse range from pediatrics to geriatrics, typical Emergency Department cases.
- Support Staff: 1 CNA, with RNs required to monitor telemetry.
Additional Insights:
- Charge Nurse may delegate assignments.
- One CNA also serves as ward clerk.
- Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 based on assignment.
- RNs may assist in MSP and ICU settings.
- Key Traits: Motivated, self-driven, dedicated to excellence, and a strong focus on patient satisfaction.
Radius Rule:
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles and cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility affiliated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity.
Request Time Off:
- Initial RTO must be submitted upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract). Additional RTO requests will not be accommodated.
