Assistant Professor of German

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor of German to join our department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate German-language courses, developing interdisciplinary courses, and contributing to departmental and university service.

• Teach all levels of undergraduate German-language courses, including beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses
• Develop and teach interdisciplinary courses in English for German Studies, such as Women's and Gender Studies, Jewish Studies, Race Studies, Comparative Literature, International Studies, and the Environmental Humanities
• Teach University-wide First-Year Experience courses and courses in Trinity University's interdisciplinary general education program
• Contribute to departmental and university service, including committee work and advising

• Ph.D. or equivalent in German or Comparative Literature by the start of the appointment
• Teaching experience in undergraduate German (lower division)
• Ongoing research agenda in relevant field of German literatures and cultures
• Native- or near-native fluency in German and English
