Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in setting up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
- Utilize proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions, following policy for medication and specimen handling.
- Assist with preparing, positioning, and draping patients and participate in the surgical pause to ensure correct patient and surgical site.
- Understand, anticipate, and adapt to surgeon preference and patient care variables, contributing to updating surgeon preference materials.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument count.
- Care for and utilize resources to promote a cost-effective and efficient environment for patients.
- Minimum one year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Nationally recognized surgical technologist certification required within six months of completion of Surgical Technologist program.
- CPR American Heart Association certification.
- Preferred one to three years of Surgical Technologist experience.
