We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Referral Specialist to join our team at Chapa-De Indian Health. As a Medical Referral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between patients and essential healthcare services.
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring electronic medical records throughout the day to capture referral requests in real-time. You will also prepare electronic treatment authorization requests (eTARs) and pre-authorizations as required.
You will utilize third-party payer/insurance portals to ensure seamless communication with specialists and other healthcare providers. Your expertise in CPT and ICD-10 codes will enable you to meet the requirements of third-party payers and specialty clinics.
As a Medical Referral Specialist, you will assemble patient information, including clinical background and referral needs, to provide accurate and relevant data to specialists. Your exceptional customer service skills will be essential in answering multi-line phone calls and using computer-based applications in a professional manner.
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of one year of medical office experience, with previous hands-on knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal Managed Care, Medicare, private insurance, and other alternate resources.
