Magnet Medical is seeking a dedicated and skilled travel nurse to join their team as a Med Surg / Telemetry Specialist.
About the RoleThis 13-week contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of Magnet Medical's mission.
As a Med Surg / Telemetry Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of conditions, including cardiovascular issues, respiratory conditions, post-operative recovery, and other acute illnesses or injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, monitoring vital signs, heart rhythms, and overall condition to ensure prompt intervention and effective care.
- Medication Administration and Management: Safely administer prescribed medications, monitoring patients for side effects and adverse reactions, and adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring: Monitor patients with telemetry units, documenting and reporting any irregularities to the medical team, and maintaining equipment to ensure proper function.
- Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care: Provide post-operative care for surgical patients, managing incision sites, preventing complications, and educating patients on post-surgical care instructions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care to promote optimal health outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A current RN license in the state of Iowa
- Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry nursing, preferably with Magnet Medical
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
The pay package for this position includes a tax-free stipend amount, which will be determined based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
