Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse New Wages

At Allure of Galesburg, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Complete and file required recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility.
  • Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, etc.
  • Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.
Physical Demands:
  • Be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
