Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards. The Bartender must be able to work in an ever-changing environment, maintain excellent attendance, and be available to work events as scheduled.

Responsibilities
  • Meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
  • Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus to provide service as described.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following proper procedures, including state and federal regulations.
  • Learn and have knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits available, and suggestively upsell products to guests.
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
  • Check guest's ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
  • Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
  • De-escalate intoxicated guest situations, and contact management or security as required.
  • Request additional product or restock product as required.
  • Handle cash accurately and maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
Qualifications
  • Six months or more experience bartending in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to accurately handle register and revenue collections through a POS system.
  • Ability to meet the company standard of excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn about various beer, wine, and spirits available.
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Valid ServSafe Alcohol certificate prior to working at Donald L Tucker Civic Center.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
