Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY: The Laundry Specialist is accountable for managing all functions within the laundry department.

Lodgco Hospitality is dedicated to providing exceptional service and is currently looking for a committed Laundry Specialist to enhance our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for hospitality and outstanding customer service abilities. We offer both full-time and part-time roles, with a requirement for flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize linens into suitable categories for laundering, segregate stained items from other soiled linens, and treat them according to established protocols. Ensure optimal load sizes are maintained. Transfer clean linens from washers to dryers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of washers and dryers, inspect drums, replenish cleaning supplies, and clear lint traps on dryers.
  • Remove linens from dryers, fold them, and store them in designated areas.
  • Adhere to the proper curing process for linens.
  • Document any discarded linens on the appropriate tracking sheet.
  • Keep the work area tidy and assist in maintaining cleanliness in the break room and employee restroom.
  • Follow safety protocols in compliance with MIOSHA standards.
  • Ensure shelves and supplies are well-stocked and organized, and notify the supervisor of any inventory shortages.
  • Assist housekeeping staff with cleaning tasks, including the collection and delivery of soiled linens.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Deliver the highest standard of service to guests.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures for the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Adhere to key control protocols.
  • Immediately report any unusual incidents or requests to a supervisor.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in laundry operations or hospitality is advantageous.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A satisfactory criminal background check is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not include supervisory duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of this position. While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is frequently required to communicate verbally, listen attentively, stand for extended periods, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position requires variable hours based on the operational needs of the organization, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
