Key Responsibilities

The Underwriting Service Consultant plays a vital role in delivering high-quality and efficient support to our agents by offering underwriting expertise to the Underwriting Services Team.

  • Managing and addressing UWS Escalation Chats from Underwriting Services Representatives.
  • Timely processing of workflow items in the UWS IIS Mailbox.
  • Reviewing and processing modification requests on quotes and active policies.
  • Handling escalated inquiries from our agents via phone.
  • Participating in Underwriting Training sessions provided.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service and underwriting is preferred
  • Proficient in computer usage with strong typing abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Skilled in managing challenging interactions with professionalism and accuracy
  • Strong multitasking capabilities, managing multiple web chats concurrently
  • A collaborative team player contributing to a positive team atmosphere
  • Adaptability to changing underwriting guidelines is crucial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, as this team operates between 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday
