Job Description

The Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth. This includes identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key clients, and staying up-to-date on market trends.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review (HH BR) meetings to stay informed about hotel operations and sales performance.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the hotel's operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
  • Stay current with company sales policies and SOPs, and ensure that the sales team adheres to them.
  • Meet or exceed set sales targets and operate within established expense budgets.
  • Initiate and follow up on leads, maintain an active sales solicitation program, and monitor production of top accounts.
  • Regularly contact existing accounts based on tracing frequencies from the Account Coverage Program.
  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as parties and sales blitzes.
  • Prepare required reports in a timely manner and be familiar with all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques.
  • Conduct professional site inspections of the hotel with clients, showcasing its features and benefits.
  • Utilize the property's computerized sales management system to manage business, generate reports, enter transactions, block space, and build accounts.
  • Meet and greet onsite contacts, adhere to Prime Selling Time (PST), and develop networking opportunities through community and professional associations.
  • Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to address any issues.
  • Entertain clients and handle inquiries as part of the Inquiry Day Program.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests, providing attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented interactions.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a service-oriented manner.
