Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Clerk to join our team. As a Food Service Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our food service cases, as well as providing excellent customer service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of food service cases, storage areas, and work areas.
  • Stock food service cases, including presentation, facing, filling, and organization of products.
  • Examine the rotation of food service products and discard outdated or spoiled items.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist customers with purchases, information, and product selection.
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
  • Monitor point of purchase signs and ensure a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, and promotional materials are available.
  • Operate and use equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Prepare various food service items, including using the appropriate ingredients and proper cooking times.
  • Use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
  • Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including back stock and ensuring tags match products.
  • Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
  • Walk the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency degree.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of grocery retail experience in food service department processes and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for long periods, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Some extreme temperatures and ventilation systems may be present.
