Senior Manager, Actuary of ASO and Specialty

Your Role:

This key member of the Blue Shield of California ASO and Specialty Pricing team supports rate filing, discount submission, and financial analysis for the company's ASO and Specialty space.

In this position, you will report to the Senior Director Actuarial Pricing for Select & Specialty and be responsible for managing the UDS discount submission, supporting all ASO financial modeling and guarantee evaluation, and pricing and forecasting of Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage overall responsibility and accountability for the UDS discount submission, ensuring data is submitted accurately while driving improvements in our results.
  • Have overall responsibility for the financial performance of our Specialty product lines, ensuring rate filings are submitted and approved to regulatory agencies.
  • Assess the financial risk of unique funding arrangements in the self-funded market, driving new insights and solutions to help deliver value in the ASO market.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of work products associated with job responsibilities.
  • Lead special projects/committees/task forces and manage gross margin projections and explanation in annual financial plan, periodic re-forecasts, and monthly variance analysis for the Specialty and ASO lines of business.

Estimated Salary Range: $145,970 - $218,900 per year in California.
