Piano Teacher

This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching expertise at MacPhail Center for Music, a renowned music education institution. The instructor teaches individual piano lessons for students of varying levels (beginning to advanced) with an emphasis on engaging young beginners.

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Piano Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree or certification in music or music education, or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of piano studio teaching experience, including working with diverse age groups and skill levels, is required. Experience teaching small groups and various musical styles is preferred.

• Foster a positive learning environment and establish a good rapport with students and families.
• Provide expert music instruction to individuals and groups, including demonstrating piano playing in lessons.
• Manage studio and group classes, including recruitment, lesson planning, scheduling, registration paperwork, and communication.
• Participate in department meetings and engage with the overall work and mission of MacPhail Center for Music.

This is a part-time exempt position, with a flexible schedule that includes weekday afternoons and evenings, Saturdays. Onsite and in-person instruction is required, with occasional remote instruction possible.

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
