Disassembly Technician

Kett Engineering is seeking a skilled Disassembly Technician to join our team at an automotive proving ground in Maricopa, AZ.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of disassembly of corrosion test vehicles, preparation of vehicles for evaluations and inspections, and assisting in other aspects of corrosion testing.

• Removal of interior components
• Removal of engine and drive train components
• Preparation of vehicle for outer skin inspection by removing all body plugs, clips, and other components
• Clean vehicle for evaluation
• Disassemble vehicle components (hood, doors, trunk, etc.)
• Drill out spot welds, cut laser welds and disassemble each individual body panel
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting and perform work such as tire changes, transmission removal etc.
• Package and store body panels for evaluation
• As assigned drive Corrosion vehicles on a rotational basis, to mitigate risk for injury due to repetitive motion
• Perform other duties as requested or required by management

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Basic mechanical skills
• Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures
• Basic computer knowledge
• Minimum of four (4) years licensed driving experience with the ability to obtain minimum of D level track certification
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
• Must be able to drive a manual as well as an automatic transmission
• Must be able to lift to 80 pounds
• Job requires standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a drug screen and Physical required
