About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Hospice of the Midwest. As a Hospice Aide, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care to patients in their homes, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as assigned
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, as needed
  • Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
  • Provide range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed by the hospice nurse or therapist
  • Assist with light laundry needs and keep patient's living area clean and orderly
  • Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities
Qualifications
  • Meets the training requirements of the State
  • Completed a minimum of seventy five hours of classroom and supervised practical training
  • Minimum of six months experience providing personal care
  • At least eighteen years of age
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Understands hospice philosophy and is comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
