The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses.
Responsibilities- Perform patient personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming, and oral care.
- Turn, position, and ambulate patients to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Assist patients with bedpans, urinals, and perineal cleansing.
- Take temperature, pulse, and blood pressure readings.
- Enter daily patient record charting in the computer.
- Perform simple diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, such as dressing changes.
- Clean equipment, patient bedside areas, and nursing units.
- Set up rooms for patient admission.
- Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies.
- Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing units.
- Perform basic CPR as required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
This is a regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa. The schedule includes evening and night rotating shifts, with an every third weekend rotation and a holiday rotation.
