We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Pulmonary Medicine team at Catholic Health Service. The successful candidate will work closely with pulmonologists to provide comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Provide direct clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep apnea.
  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Perform detailed patient histories, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments (e.g., ordering pulmonary function tests and imaging).
  • Treatment Plans: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Education: Educate patients and families about disease management, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and referrals.
  • Procedures: Assist with or perform procedures such as thoracentesis, if trained and certified.
  • Follow-up Care: Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary during follow-ups, both in the clinic and through telehealth.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certification: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult, Family, or Acute Care.
  • Licensure: Active NP license in New York State.
  • Certifications: BLS from AHA.
  • Experience: Prior experience in pulmonology, internal medicine, or critical care is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, patient education, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
