About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse - Lactation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive lactation support to new mothers, including breastfeeding education and counseling.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with lactation-related issues.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' lactation needs and develop effective plans to address any challenges or concerns.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on topics such as breastfeeding techniques, lactation management, and infant care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practices in lactation care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington and Oregon.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • PEARS or PALS certification (dependent on department assignment).
  • Ability to type 20 words per minute.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in lactation support or a related field.
  • Current or future Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience working with level 2/level 3 neonates.
  • Seven years of experience working with postpartum breastfeeding couplets.
