LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Technician to join our client's team in the Bohemia, NY area.

This direct hire role offers an exciting opportunity to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization. As a Mechanical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the integration of electro-mechanical systems, providing hands-on support for machine construction, mechanical fabrication tasks, system assembly, startup, and testing according to custom schematics of industrial x-ray systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components as determined upon schematics.
  • Perform light machining tasks, as required per project.
  • Oversee layout and cutting of frames, cabinets, panels, and other related components.
  • Responsible for primary machine mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform tasks in accordance and compliance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, as well as all related organizational design and safety standards.
  • Where and when possible and applicable, assist with the wiring of custom systems to include electrical panel building, machine wiring, pulling wire, terminating, bending conduit, wiring motors and system startup and testing.
  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot/repair, and/or test systems (approximately 25%).
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned including but not limited to clean-up, light maintenance duties, material movement, inventory counts, crate/pallet building, furniture assembly, and forklift operation.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma with some technical schooling or training
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting in the integration and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics and engineering documentation in AutoCAD.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have valid and current US Drivers License.
  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test.
  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Prior experience working with BOMS and or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics.
  • Prior experience and solid understanding of motion control design, PLC / PC programming and distributed control theory highly preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures.
