**Job Overview**

SMX is seeking an experienced Defense Contracting Professional to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense contracting and acquisition support, with a focus on cloud platforms and cyber/IT initiatives.

This position requires a minimum of eight (8) years of experience providing acquisition support for complex acquisitions, including requirements definition, procurement, and post-award contract management.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in developing acquisition strategies, analyzing requirements, and evaluating contract types.

Additionally, they will have extensive knowledge in automated office software suites and program office experience supporting cloud platforms or cyber/IT initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Developing and executing approved acquisition strategies, including recommendations on solicitation development and format.
  • Providing acquisition support throughout the life cycle of complex acquisitions, including requirements definition, procurement, and post-award contract management.
  • Analyzing requirements and determining appropriate contract types and extent of competition.
  • Conducting market analysis, cost analysis, requirements analysis, and Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) development.
  • Managing procurement packages and solicitation documents, including Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Combined Synopsis/Solicitations.
  • Supporting processes to track and report progress on contract actions.
  • Working with evaluation teams for source selections, performing market research, and developing acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A DAWIA Level 2 / PM (Practitioner) / Contracts (Professional) certification.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience providing acquisition support for cloud platforms or similar initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge in acquisition policies, industry standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience working with senior technical SMEs and supporting cloud platforms or cyber/IT initiatives.
  • Strong writing skills and experience preparing requirements documents, such as Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of Objective (SOO), and Performance Work Statements (PWS).
  • Experience preparing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) and managing procurement packages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex ideas to stakeholders.
