Job Description

Batesville Casket Company is seeking a skilled and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our team as a Regional Driver. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials across the region.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate and maneuver tractor-trailer combinations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations, including distribution centers and warehouses.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation and compliance with company and DOT regulations.
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel, and delivery documentation as required by company policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.
  • Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and fellow employees.

Requirements:
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Doubles endorsement.
  • Ability to obtain HAZMAT endorsement within 6 weeks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving class A combination vehicles.
  • Fully understand DOT rules and regulations.
  • Clean MVR/CSA score.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to lift and/or move miscellaneous equipment and product weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to enter Canada and return with no restrictions due to criminal history or personal status with valid passport or passport card.
  • Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills, and team player.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that customer demand is met.
  • Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
