Position Title: School-Based Physical Therapist
Overview: The Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in designing, executing, and managing physical therapy programs tailored to the needs of students, ensuring their health and well-being in an educational context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services in accordance with physician directives.
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards for patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify physical therapy needs, set goals, and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals and family members, to coordinate care.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the student’s care.
- Provide guidance and support to clinical staff as a resource consultant.
- Supervise and mentor support personnel as required.
- Complete assessments in compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapist.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Proven expertise in clinical assessments and adherence to care standards.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a physical therapy role.
Essential Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to sit and navigate stairs.
- Visual and auditory acuity for patient assessment.
- Ability to reposition patients and manage equipment independently.
- Capacity to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including allergens and potential health risks.
