Warehouse Operations Specialist

As a Warehouse Operations Specialist at Rex Lumber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include inventory control, warehouse operations, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct physical inventory and cycle counting of all parts in the warehouse on a quarterly basis
• Receive and deliver parts as required, utilizing Infor for accurate tracking
• Assist colleagues with warehouse functions, including finding parts and signing them out correctly
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, including floors, shelves, and existing inventory
• Set up and monitor minimum and maximum reorder levels for all parts
• Ensure the use of FIFO methods to keep inventory items fresh
• Keep aisles, receiving area, annex, and outside warehouse area clear from obstructions and hazards
• Maintain MRO vending machine stock levels and alert the purchasing agent when items need restocking
• Issue parts to Work Orders as needed
• Alert the Purchasing Agent of any issues in a timely manner
Requirements
• Good driving record and current driver's license
• Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions
• Well-organized and computer-literate
• Ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
• Basic mathematical skills and solid decision-making abilities
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds regularly and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds
• At least 18 years of age and a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Safety
• Follow all office safety regulations
• When in the mill, follow area/machine center specific safety regulations
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses, and hearing protection
• Do not enter restricted areas
• Report any unsafe equipment or conditions to the supervisor immediately
• Request assistance when a task exceeds individual knowledge
• Visually inspect equipment and area before starting/operating
• Eliminate unsafe conditions as soon as possible
• Use Standard Lockout Procedures when appropriate for machine centers
• Use proper lifting technique by pushing, pulling, and lifting with legs, not back
• Never approach a saw while it is still running
