At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, we prioritize patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to provide a comfortable and less stressful hospital environment for every individual.
Our comprehensive range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity care, cancer treatment, and diagnostic imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients using AIDET, verify patient identification, and review charts for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions.
- Inform patients and families about the treatment process and address their questions.
- Prepare patients for treatment, position equipment according to plan, and take portal films or IGRT scans to ensure accurate treatment protocols.
- Verify the proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patients as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients throughout the treatment process, checking video monitors and intercoms, and inform physicians of any patient distress or side effects.
- Record each patient's treatment in the EMR and maintain accurate notes.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field by reading relevant literature and attending seminars, conferences, and education opportunities.
- Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
- ARRT (T) boards completion within 6 months of hire.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems.
- Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment, manage patients, and follow oral and written instructions.
